District counseling program grows
An earlier press release (posted below and available by clicking this link) describes how the district will be hiring two additional student service positions this year, a counselor at Lindeman Elementary and a social worked at Miles Elementary. Cincinnati.com published an article recently featuring the district student services program and the awarded grant.
District to offer after school meal at Tichenor Middle School
Tichenor Middle School has offered breakfast and lunch service for students for years, but effective immediately, Tichenor is also offering an early, after school dinner, along with a number of accompanying educational enrichment programs. The meal and all programs are free to all students (regardless of the student's Free/Reduced Lunch status), but parent/guardian permission is required in advance. A letter/permission form was sent home to the parents of all Tichenor students, but for those of you who prefer, here is an electronic copy.
Grant provides additional counselor, social worker for district
The Northern Kentucky Cooperative for Educational Services recently received a U.S. Department of Education Elementary School Counseling Grant which will provide counselors and social workers for three Northern Kentucky school districts. The Erlanger-Elsmere School District was one of those three districts, and the grant will provide an additional counselor at Lindeman Elementary School and a social worker at Miles Elementary.
September Home & School Connection now available
Once again this year the district's Title I department presents Home & School Connection: Working Together for School Success. The September edition is now available and includes articles about establishing a good back to school routine, strengthening family bonds, and tips for talking about money.
